Flowmotionmammal meditation is dedicated to teaching children and families meditation and mindfulness practices.
To all of you who find yourselves reading this hello to you, my name is Harriet and I am the founder of Flowmotionmammal Meditation.
I am a mother, wife and teacher, who grew up in the UK but have lived in a few different cities within Europe.
I have almost 25 years of experience teaching children of a range of ages and in different capacities, with a specialism in "Early Years" education and teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL). In 2022 I began training as a Children's meditation teacher with Connected KidsTM. I have always loved and continue to love working with children but began to feel a level of disillusionment with education and felt a deep calling to combine my love of working with children and my own meditation practice that has supported me to navigate through the challenges of this human experience. I qualified as a Connected KidsTM children's meditation teacher at the end of 2024 and in 2025 registered my business Flowmotionamammal Meditation.
There are several focus points for what I teach at Flowmotionammal Meditation.
The first is to bring meditation and mindfulness practices to as many children and their families as is possible, so they experience it for themselves rather than having an image in their mind of what meditation and mindfulness is. It is my belief that "normalising" meditation, self introspection, taking time to observe life rather than be consumed by it, is vital and pivotal for the much needed changes within education and societies Globally in the current times we live in.
The next two elements are both personal to me as a mother and from my own human experience for different reasons in addition to being very practical, providing children with a toolkit of practices.
These are to support children and young people with feeling and sitting big emotions and with maintaining focus and concentration. Emotions are an inescapable part of our human existence which, currently, is so often ignored, suppressed, and generally viewed as difficult and negative, especially those big and overwhelming ones. Focus and concentration is often something children struggle with in school, but with the current system that is in place, is mandatory.
I work with and teach groups, including parent and child groups and provide 1:1 programs for individual children and family groups.
Both group and individual sessions include a wide variety and exploration of meditation and mindfulness practices and I consider to be an exploration. There are no pre-planned programs and I base the content of each session on the energy and needs of the group, family or individual. The underpinning elements in all my sessions and programs is fun, creativity, imagination and self-expression.
